What is it?

WarbleCamp is a free event bringing the European Twitter developer community together in London on the weekend of the 8th and 9th May 2010. It's an unconference organised for the community by the community. The venue, food and drink are covered by sponsors and all content is provided by participants, the organisers are volunteers and provide a minimal amount of structure to make sure the event goes smoothly.

Barcamp-style sessions

The Barcamp-style sessions provide 84 opportunities for you share your experiences and learn directly from other members of the community. These can be in the form of a talk or presentation, a round table discussion or anything else you think other participants will be interested in doing for around 20 minutes. There will be participants from most of the big web businesses including Twitter, the Guardian and Yahoo, PayPal and all sorts of other people too. Sessions will be allocated on a first come first serve basis on the Saturday morning, everyone should try to contribute something to making the event great!

Hackday

The overnight hack will provide you with an opportunity to work with people you don't normally get to work with, applying some of the things you learnt during the day’s sessions with the experts on hand to ask questions of. Some sponsors will be setting challenges and may also present awards to the best hacks in different categories.

Who's involved?

This event has been organised independently of Twitter by a group of individuals experienced in organising events for the technology community such as BarCamp, DevNest and TweetCamp including: @jot, @kalv, @nuxnix, @farhan, @iamdanw, @tommorris

Twitter have endorsed the event as a great alternative for European developers that can’t make it to Chirp. They’ve committed to sending at least one member of the Platform Team to the UK to participate.

Who are the Sponsors?

We currently have three major sponsors: the Guardian, PayPalX, Yahoo Developer Network and oneforty. We have room for a few more. Major sponsorship starts at £750 and gets:

  1. Mentions throughout the event.
  2. Space to put up signage for display during the event.
  3. The opportunity to hand out schwag.
  4. Large logo on all event materials and website.
  5. Two tickets to the event which they can allocate as they wish.
  6. To set a challenge to the community and present an associated award at the end of the hackday on the afternoon of Sunday 9th May (optional).
  7. Two additional tickets to the demos and awards on Sunday afternoon.
  8. A warm fuzzy feeling in the knowledge that you have contributed to the food and drink fueling participants through the 32 hour event.

If you’d like to join them in supporting the community by ensuring we can provide food and drink to as many people as the venue can hold over the weekend please contact Jonathan Markwell via jon@inuda.com.

Who are the Microsponsors?

We currently have three microsponsors: @twfeed, @leftlogic, @ubxd, @freerange, @multizone, @inuda. Microsponsorship is for smaller businesses and startups that wish to show their support for the community. Micro-sponsors pay £140 + VAT and get:

  1. Announced at the start and end of the event.
  2. The opportunity to hand out schwag.
  3. Logo on major event materials and website.
  4. To set a challenge to the community and present an associated award at the end of the hackday on the afternoon of Sunday 9th May (optional).
  5. One ticket to attend the demos and awards on Sunday afternoon.
  6. A warm fuzzy feeling in the knowledge that you have contributed to the food and drink fueling participants through the 32 hour event.

Microsponsors can register via the above eventbrite form.

Micro-sponsors do not automatically get a ticket to the whole event, if you would like to participate you will need to grab one in one of the releases with other participants.

Inuda Innovations Ltd. is collecting micro-sponsorship monies as well as providing micro-sponsorship themselves. In the event of any money being left over after the event it will be used to pay for future Twitter developer events or donated to a BarCamp event.
